350 Eugene
350 Eugene is the Eugene chapter of 350.org, an international non-profit working to combat climate change and bring the carbon concentration (parts per million) in the atmosphere back to 350ppm - the healthy level. 350 Eugene started in January 2014 and has been helping build the grassroots climate movement in Eugene ever since.
I started working with 350 Eugene while I was at UO, through my work with the Climate Justice League. In 2020, a spot opened up and I was able to join them as their Communications Coordinator. |
As their Communications Coordinator, I managed their website and social media accounts, and designed bi-weekly "news blasts" to update supporters on what's happening with their campaigns. I also provided admin support on many Zoom calls!
In November 2020, 350 Eugene joined onto the Fossil Free Eugene coalition and I became 350's Fossil Free Eugene Coordinator as well. In this position, I assisted the coalition with organizing meetings and events, create social media graphics and toolkits, and attend and testify at city meetings. I continued serving as their Communications Coordinator until May 2022. |
